The AI Discoverability Checklist for Entrepreneurs

Our AI Discoverability Framework holds the thinking. This page holds the work: six items, each one action, each with a done or not done answer. No theory survives past this line, only boxes.

Six Boxes

Done or Not Done, Nothing In Between

One description of you, everywhere

Write the sentence: name, role, company, what it does, for whom. Deploy it word for word on your site, LinkedIn, and every live profile. Machines reconcile sources before they answer, and you are doing the reconciliation for them. Our digital identity guidelines cover the edge cases.

A stranger reading any three of your profiles would write down the same one sentence about you.

Profiles on the sources assistants cite

Assistants lean on a predictable source set: LinkedIn, your own domain, established directories, news surfaces, and structured registries. Be present and current on each, and delete the dead profiles that contradict you, an abandoned page is a stale witness testifying against your own story.

Every profile that appears when you search your own name is yours, current, and consistent.

Structured data on your own site

Add Person and Organization schema with sameAs links to your profiles and registry entry. It is one afternoon of work that removes every ambiguity about who your site says you are, in the exact format machines parse first.

Your homepage validates with Person schema, and its sameAs list points to every property in item two.

At least one independent page about you

The heaviest signal in the stack: a substantive page on a domain you do not control. A published feature, indexed news coverage, a real podcast page. Self description asserts; independent pages corroborate, and corroboration is what machines repeat.

Searching your name surfaces at least one substantive page you did not publish and cannot edit.

A confirmable credential

One public, structured, third party record that verifies you exist as claimed: an entry in the International Entrepreneur Registry, checkable by any person or system in seconds. This is the only item on the list completable this week with a single application, and it strengthens every other box the day it lands.

An outsider can verify your entrepreneurial status without contacting you, in under a minute.

The recurring self audit

Monthly, fifteen minutes: ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI results about you, your company, and your category. Trace what they cite, fix the weakest source, repeat. The full method lives in how to get ChatGPT to recommend your business.

A calendar event exists, and last month’s audit produced one specific fix.
Why the Boxes Matter

Every Unchecked Box Is a Guess Being Made About You

Here is the honest translation of each empty box. No unified description: the machines may split you into two half people, and answer with neither. No independent page: your best claims stay legally inadmissible, asserted but never corroborated. No credential: the one question every answer engine silently asks, “can this be checked?”, comes back no, and how AI understands entrepreneurs shows exactly what unverifiable founders get in response: hedges, omissions, or a competitor’s name.

The list is also sequenced by leverage. Items one through three cost only attention. Item five costs $99 and days. Item four arrives with it at the $199 tier. Item six keeps all of it compounding. A founder who starts today is fully boxed within three weeks, and the machines notice within the month.

FAQ

Checklist Questions Answered

Item one, today, because it costs nothing and everything else inherits it: the description you unify is the description your schema, your profiles, and your independent pages will all carry. Then item five, because the credential is completable in days and strengthens every box around it. The rest follow in numbered order.
The framework explains why machines reward consistency, independence, and checkability. This page converts the why into six boxes with pass or fail tests. Read the framework once; run the checklist quarterly.
The boxes multiply rather than add. A credential inside an inconsistent identity is a strong source contradicted by weak ones; a perfect description with nothing independent behind it is an unsupported assertion. Six checked boxes is not perfectionism, it is the minimum footprint that survives machine reconciliation intact, which is the whole game described in how to show up in AI search.
Retrieval based assistants can reflect newly indexed pages within days to weeks, and item six is how you catch the moment it happens instead of wondering. No honest answer promises a specific mention, ours included; what the checklist guarantees is that when the machines look, there is something true, consistent, and checkable to find.

Six Boxes. The Machines Are Already Grading Them

Three cost attention, one costs $99 and days, and together they decide whether answer engines describe you or guess about you. Start with the box that checks this week, refunded in full if verification does not approve you.
